The environmental cleanup efforts at Lynwood Springs are progressing well. A remediation system, known as a soil vapor extraction (SVE) system, is being installed. Once operational, this system will be remove gasoline and other volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from the soil. The City and its consultants are committed to ensuring the safety of residents and the community throughout all remediation activities, which adhere to applicable Federal, State, and local rules and environmental regulations.”
This area of Lynwood is declared a food desert. The City has secured Northgate Market as the developer of the Site. Northgate has begun construction and is expected to open Fall 2025.
The environmental work for this effort is funded through the Equitable Community Revitalization Grant (ECRG).
